For occupational disciplines, a combination of education and/or experience is required to qualify. A faculty may qualify with any of the following:
- Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR
- Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor’s degree or higher OR
- A Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field OR
- A Master’s degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field

Field licensure or national certification in discipline
Years of full time time employment of discipline that will be taught
Letter from employer stating type of work and responsibilities to include years worked
A demonstrable professional, expert knowledge of program specific skills such as software, equipment operation/maintenance, and /or other specialized workplace skills/practices/procedures
An associate degree or 64 semester hours and 5 years work experience in the field to be taught
Examples of work or projects demonstrating specialized program-specific skills, ability to micro-teach program-specific content
