Language faculty must have a master’s degree in the language to be taught or a master’s degree in any field and 18 graduate credits and/or experience credits in the language to be taught. Faculty teaching a Less Commonly Taught Language (LCTL = any language other than English, French, German, or Spanish) may be qualified to teach without a master’s degree. LCTL faculty who do not possess a master’s degree must still have 18 equivalent credits.
